I would like to see no more posts implying/stating that only white criminals get the “Whoa he’s crazy” treatment, did you guys already forget Seung-Hui Cho? PoC get even WORSE mental illness stigmatization, do you guys need your intersectionality certificates revoked :/
the point of most of those posts though is to show that media portrays white criminals should be pitied because “they couldn’t help it” or “weren’t in control of themselves”, and are an exception to the rule. i haven’t seen any posts implying that this is a “stigmatization” with any intent to oppress them based on their whiteness — in fact, it’s doing the opposite.
of COURSE a poc would get worse mental illness stigmatization, and since asians are considered to be a “model minority” in america, it makes perfect sense that they’d get the treatment of a white person but in a negative, oppressive connotation, instead of the pity that is implicit for white criminals.
are people seriously trying to imply that the stigmatization of “craziness” for white criminals is in any way oppressive on a racial basis because white people can never be oppressed in this country bc of their race.
