youske is really annoying but i dont hate him or anything. wait yeah i might hate him

the show seems like it really closely follows the game from the gifs that i’ve scene, but ugh. yosuke is just a horrible sleaze the the girls like all the time. and he’s straight up homophobic with kanji like all the time and just. uuuuuugh.

Donna had a perfect ending sorry not sorry

in a lot of ways i think donna was so amazing bc of how deeply sad her ending was. but also, donna was just a genuinely amazing character, and i just wished she could be happy. to even just remember the things she did, or to have some sense of who she really is, what she’s truly capable of. legitimately, the biggest tragedy of that whole scene is that donna does not know that she is a hero. she saved the universe, and she thinks she’s nothing.

so while i think that ultimately, her story has a lot of value bc of how incredibly traumatic it is for the viewer, i think the value in it comes from the wish that she could know how wonderful she is. i think that’s the value in that story — placing that desire in someone to want nothing more than for another person to understand that they are wonderful. i think it’s beautiful that donna’s story inspires that kind of selfless desire, especially in someone as selfish as me. so i can’t really wish that it was undone. but i do.

the only reason i haven’t already is bc my internet is slow as fuck. i also am trying to rewatch the original show bc i haven’t watched it since high school and i bet i’d have a much more interesting experience this time around
